By virtue of BOR Resolution No. 1382 series of 2011 during a board meeting last March 2, 2011 and pursuant to Section 6 of Republic Act 8292 also known as Higher Education Modernization Act 0f 1997, Dr. Victor M. Barroso, incumbent head of Bukidnon State University was reappointed for a second term of office as University President commencing June 14, 2011.

The BSU Board of Regents (BOR) headed by Hon. Hadja Luningning Misuarez-Umar, Commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) evaluated Dr. Barroso’s performance during his first term. His achievement as an Outstanding Head of Agency awarded by the Civil Service Commission last September 27, 2010 was duly recognized by the Board.

Dr. Barroso swore an Oath of Office last April 14, 2011 at the CHED Central Office, Manila administered by the CHED Chairperson, Patricia B. Licuanan. The affair was witnessed by his wife, Dr. Remedios G.T. Barroso and Commissioner Hadja Luningning Misuarez-Umar. The reappointment was also governed by Sections 28 and 29 of Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) and Section 9 of Republic Act 9456 (BSU Charter).
